“A Woman” — A Collaboration by @Zorlone and @FrankCunhaIII
Posted: October 3, 2012 Filed under: FC3ZMD, Poetry | Tags: Art, FC3ZMD, Photo Art, Photography, Poetry, Zorlone 2 CommentsThrough the hour glass
shaped wire
I make out a figure
of a woman.
In her form,
I can see the universe.
All the colors and shapes
that form
the space
around us are present
in her outline.
In the curves
I can make out each planet,
each cell,
and each subatomic particle.
She is the universe,
she is life!

Photo Art by Frank Cunha III (taken with iPhone, edited using Snapseed, scratches added on iPad using SketchBookX app) — USA
This sunset and springtime,
colors of my tired mind.
Painting the memories,
of another lifetime.
Past and present chances,
woven in time and space.
Lines of songs and dances,
like rain in dreams embrace.
As the sun bids farewell,
this day to remember.
Bridging thoughts and stairwells,
this future to answer.
My memories remind,
of a painting sublime.
Colors of my tired mind,
this sunset and springtime.

the silent gaze
of your sympathy.
Stepping ever slowly
on shards of glass
as I walked away.
I bleed
from the cut
sliced skin
of my decision
to grow apart –
from your side.
I cried.
The thoughts
of your kindness
that I disregarded
and abandoned
from fear
of leaving behind
a life that I knew.
I am sorry.

Sequences of space and time –
shape stories.
Seeing, being, and occupying space.
She senses the essence of being there –
from here.
On her device,
distantly distracted,
Looking and being, mind, body, and soul collapse.
Sequences of space and time.
Patterns forming,
and changing.
Calls dropped, missed, and gotten, but never forgotten.
Soul retracted.
The other person listens.
She talks,
and stops….
Patterns remain, shapes broken,
love ones born, and love ones lost,
Talk.
Talk.
Talk.
Walk.
Walk.
Walk.
Sequences of space and time come and go,
Her phone call – done,
her essence – gone.
Soul patterns on the floor,
only her soles,
remain.

Twice in a mundane day,
Unnoticed by most walks of life.
The perfect scene of perfect light,
Strikes at the golden hour.
Like reflections on both ends of the Earth,
Stretched by the reach of the sun.
The day begins when another ends,
But meeting halfway at the golden hour.
Awed in a similar scene,
The skyline of blue and yellow.
These ghost silhouettes and familiar shadows,
Are formed at the golden hour.
With the same expression of a precise time,
Separated by the distant future and the known past.
The present is clearly united,
And in sync at the golden hour.

“One more, please?” Pedro cried out a prayer. He counted the small change he got from yesterday’s earnings.
He still needed to meet his daily quota of cotton candy sales before he could start making any profits for the day.
The gloom oh his face brightened and he couldn’t help a smile broaden when two beautifully dressed girls approached him.

I stood
At the
Edge
Of a sharp
Fence of shadows
Careful not to get wounded
Careful not to bleed.
I was lost temporarily
From the presence
Of overlapping lines
Of spheres
And swords
And daggers
And of mistakes.
There could be more
Of these picket fences
Of these thin soldiers
Of these dark knights
That stood on ground
To protect
To defend
To throw
Their lives.
They stood
Still and firm
In attention
Of the lines
There
In.

against the dark smudged sky.
The ground prepares to grumble,
but you kept asking me why?
Progress makes way for birth
of art built on stolid need.
Don’t worry about the hurt
your loneliness shall heed.
Departed folks and tenants note
the memories you’ve helped create.
A passing of the times worth
every ounce of struggle you ablate.
Remembering you in black and white
to immortalize your passing.
A tower stood once so bright
now makes room for this town’s bidding.

Metallic, silver, and cold.
A contrast of the bold.
Of linear and angulated forms,
this far cry from the norm.
A bright, neon green,
impressive behind the scene.
Of loud and brilliant canvas
screaming opinions before us.
The back blue framed window,
lurking under the shadow.
Embraced by the repetitious design
these playful tricks of the mind.
The solid black rails,
anchored in every detail.
Summarizing the rhymes
of a self proclaimed bard of these times.
Unfinished, enigmatic, and grey
with uncommitted thoughts of play.
This articulate structure,
painted words designed to capture.

Darkness veiled a creepy alley,
with mysteries and tragedies.
Walking under a cape of foley,
shadow covered untold stories.
There was silence in the night,
of secrets and of whispers.
Two hands lifted out of sight,
brutal anger and out of temper.
A fatal blow instantly struck,
and another man fell to the ground.
His body was lifeless under a block,
The perpetrator ran without a sound.
Madness and terror lingered,
from a simple misdemeanor.
Long forgotten event conspired,
tucked away from the scene forever.

As I rush from solitude to unrest,
Where I am needed,
I take a moment to catch a glimpse,
I see the art in the sky, lines thin and wide,
Shapes and shadows, colors, form,
Framed by buildings that scrape the clouds,
It makes me feel at ease to know,
That I have the sense to take a breath,
It makes me who I am, a better version of myself,
When I am able to stop and “see,”
All those things that make me, me.
I know you can see the sky,
But can you feel it? Just like me?
It makes you real, And better still.
From where you came, you shall go,
Ponder not, and you won’t grow.

the pieces of a bond is shred.
A corrupted plan,
floated on a dust filled regret.
Deserted in the wind,

Twelve: Ghost Ships in the Night — Original and Re-edited Version by @Zorlone
Posted: October 14, 2011 Filed under: FC3ZMD, Isms | Tags: FC3ZMD, Ghost, Ism, Life, Poem, Ships 2 CommentsGhost Ships in the Night
Like ghost ships in the sea at night,
We live our lives, each day a fight!
Life passes by each daunting day,
we fervently refuse to stray.
We may be caught and in the grey,
It’s fine, cause we’re ghosts anyway.
Life seems too short, for all who care,
can’t you sit still and be aware.
Life is like the life you wish spared
if you rush your life unaware.
Like ghost ships in the sea at night,
we live our lives, each day a fight.
Our hope is all we have to fight,
there’s no need to be affright.
We are ghosts living on a light,
through scourges of a rightful night.
And in the dark, we may not see,
though all the stars just let us be.
If we open our eyes so bright,
release shall all these ghostly fright.
Without a dream, and without gleam,
we would not last, our souls like glass!
Just make it last and make it fly
Like a photo from days gone by,
Our sails dance in the morbid sky
with fleets to quench your hungry eyes.
Like ghost ships in the sea at night,
we live our lives, each day a fight!
Life is like the life you defeat,
it can be long, bitter, and sweet.
As long as we begin to meet,
a life time that each moment greets,
One moment to last forever,
look up in space, come with wonder.
From the seas, we pass each other,
fear no ghosts nor gods asunder.
Like ghost ships in the sea at night,
we live our lives, each day a fight!

No need to fear,
The gods are near.

From a thousand miles they came to see the show,
The nighttime sky was slowly beginning to glow,
The lights shown bright, oh what a sight,
They sat snuck together, nice and tight,
It felt right after such a long flight,
Try not to think of saying good night.
Just sit right back and enjoy the view,
Cause they all knew, these days are few,
Just sit right back and enjoy the craze,
Before the velvet curtains are raised,
The soft white snow began to accrue,
No one cared, they weren’t subdued,
They all knew, these days are few,
They laughed and mused at the stage anew,
The greatest show of their age revived,
Just then they knew they had arrived,
Buzz— Swoosh— Boo—
